For the Parish Council’s information. I attach notice of the Temporary Closure Order for Public Bridleway 0527/27A/1 in your Parish. Link to Council Map

This section of highway was initially closed via an emergency temporary closure on the 24.03.25. This was due to storm damaged trees obstructing, and being hung up over, this highway. Emergency temporary closures only last for 21 days. Due to the time that it has taken for me to obtain contact details for the relevant landowner and the volume and nature of the work that needs to be completed, we were unable to reopen this highway when this emergency temporary closure terminated yesterday (14.04.25).

The follow on Temporary Closure Order comes into force today and lasts for a period of six months, or until the necessary works have been completed to ensue that the public can safely pass & repass along this highway.

Notice of this Temporary Closure Order has also been sent to Munslow Parish Council and Cllr Cecilia Motley. This closure is communicated to the public via on-site notices (to be erected this afternoon), information on the Shropshire Council website and an advert in today’s edition of the Shropshire Star.

If the Parish Council have any questions about this Temporary Closure Order, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Statement of Persons Nominated for all parishes

26th March 2025

I visited this highway at the end of last week. It is currently obstructed by 12 storm damaged trees that have come down across the Public Bridleway. Some of these trees are substantial in size. Most of these trees have not come to rest on the highway’s surface but are suspended above it due to the nature of the slope that the highway is located on. Some of the trees are hung up against each other.

I have concerns for the safety of those wishing to use this highway in its current state. Because of this, a 21-day emergency temporary closure has been put in place on this Public Bridleway. Please see attached the emergency temporary closure notice & map. If the Parish Council wish to display these documents on their website or on any noticeboards around the two Parishes, then please do so.

Notice of this closure has been sent to Cllr Motley. Information of the closure has been published on the Shropshire Council website. On site closure notices will be erected tomorrow (25.03.25) morning.

As one end of the highway in question is located on the boundary between Eaton-under-Heywood and Munslow Civil Parishes, I have also updated Munslow Parish Council on this matter.

I’ll contact the landowner on Wednesday (26.03.25) to start the process of having these trees cleared and the highway brought back into a state of repair.

I’ll endeavour to keep the Parish Council updated on this matter.

Let me know if the Parish Council have any questions.

Many thanks.

Regards,

Phil Bamber

The Shropshire Council (Footpath 21 (part), Parish of Eaton-under-Heywood) Public Path Diversion Order 2025

As required by law, I am serving the Parish Council with a copy of a legal notice about the above-named Public Rights of Way Legal Order made by Shropshire Council on 13th March 2025, along with a copy of the sealed Legal Order and a statement of reasons for why the Legal Order has been made.

The notice tells the Parish Council what changes the Council is proposing to make to the Definitive Map and Statement of Public Rights of Way. It also tells you how the Parish Council can object to the proposal should they wish to do so by 10th April 2025. I also attach a copy of our Public Guidance Note (PGN11) in respect of making an objection to a Public Path Order.

If you have any questions about this Legal Order, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Regards,

Phil
